Doug and Monique Hammond
Our Pastor and his Wife
Pastor Doug and Monique Hammond grew up in the Southeast. Pastor Doug spent his formative years in Anderson, SC, and Monique lived in Powell, TN until she was sixteen. They met in college while both attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Pastor Doug received a B. A. in Bible in 1992 and a Master of Ministry in 2005; Monique received a B. S. in English Education in 1991 and a M. A. in Teaching English in 1993. They married in 1993, and God blessed them with three children, now grown.
Pastor Doug has been involved in different ministries in various parts of our country. In 1996, he and Monique moved to Columbia Falls, Montana, to serve as a youth pastor where he served for three years. In 2003, God led him into church planting in Seattle, Washington, until 2012. He became a senior pastor in Michigan in 2014 and served there until 2018. He also worked three years in rehab as a staff member of a rescue mission in Anderson, SC.
Heidi Schrowang
Kid's Ministry Coordinator/Leader and Church Administrator
Heidi is a care-free spirit who loves Jesus and loves kids. She doesn’t mind letting the activity areas get all messy so that kids can have the best hands-on experiences getting to know Jesus and His words. Heidi leads the Wednesday night Kids Club and the Sunday morning Children’s Church. She's infamous for her ‘What Would You Do For A Dollar’ games! Heidi also serves as church administrator and a ‘central nervous system’ for church life and events.
Mandy Huwe
Youth Group Coordinator/Leader
Mandy brings her creative mind to bear on the Wednesday night teen youth group times. Mandy has a special gift for presenting the truth of God’s Word in a useable way in the lives of our teenagers. She loves horses, Jesus, good times with friends and family, and sassy teens.
